Yes, we have a settling-in process to ensure your child is fully relaxed and happy in their new environment. This will normally cover a number of days and can be discussed with the Manager during the registration process.

We aim to meet the needs of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are supported by the local authority to ensure all children, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in the nursery. We work with all professionals as required for each child and encourage them to visit the setting. If required, we will contact and work with the Inclusion officers within local authorities. We will always obtain parental consent before doing so and we will include parents in all decisions made and in every meeting.

According to Ofsted’s recommendations the adult:child ratios in the baby rooms (0-2 years) is 1:3, toddler rooms (2-3 years) is 1:4. Pre-school rooms (3-4years) is 1:8.

Our staff hold appropriate childcare and Early Years qualifications at levels 2 and 3. Some are training and are being supported towards achieving their qualifications. They also have Paediatric First Aid, Food Health and Hygiene, Child Protection and Health and Safety qualifications. All members of staff have enhanced DBS check.

We follow our Safer Recruitment procedure to ensure we employ the right people. All management staff have undergone safer recruitment training. Our recruitment process is thorough and we ensure relevant checks are carried out.

A key person is a member of staff within your child’s room. Your child will be assigned to a key person who will be responsible for caring and supporting your child’s learning and development.

We accept all forms of vouchers but we may need to register with new ones. You may need some information from us to set these up, such as Ofsted registration numbers. We also accept payments through the Tax Free Childcare scheme from HMRC.

We are closed on Bank Holidays and over the Christmas period. We are also closed for our staff training days. We will provide sufficient notice to parents in relation to staff training days.

We do recommend that you talk to us first if you have a problem. However, we do have a Complaints Policy that outlines the steps you need to take to make a formal complaint. You will also find details of Ofsted’s complaints number on display in the nurseries.

Change of clothing (including underwear), nappies and wipes, nappy cream, pair of slippers, sun hat, wellies, woolly hat, scarf, coat (weather dependent).

We accept two and three year old funding. We ask for proof of eligibility for two year olds. All three year olds will gain funding automatically. We will print a form off each term and ask you to complete and return it to us.

Yes, we have policies and procedures covering all aspects of child welfare, staffing, etc.  They are available to view in the nurseries. We review our policies regularly and carry out updates especially when there is a change in regulations or legislation.
